Anybody using Digital Performer?

Me neither, but a buddy recorded my band with it and has had some trouble recovering sound files that mysteriously got the first ten seconds clipped off!

I totly missed this thread. WTF did he do to clip them? If he actually pressed record to get the first whatever seconds, all he has to do is go to the beginning of the soundfile in the sequence window until it looks like this: "[". Click and drag left and if its there, the soundfile will expand and show the first whatever seconds. Its possible that he was doing some soundbite editing and accidentally hit apple+A and then cropped the files he was messing with and accidentally cropped all of them. I've done some of that stupid stuff before. He should've saved.

The next thing, if that doesn't work, would be to look in his soundbite browser window and find the suspect files. Click on it and it'll show in the soundbite editor. Click it (and hold mouse down) and you'll hear it play. If it plays the missing parts, he just needs to re-insert them into the sequence window.

Thanx Roars, I think he somehow instructed Performer (unknowingly) to begin recording when the band started playing? The dunce said something about spilling a coke on the keyboard and wiping it off with a rag. All is not lost. The count in and general banter after hitting record isn't there even in the soundbite browser. Live and learn!
